JL Rubicon Regear Costs

I've had gears changed on my JK for $1,500 (parts/labor). And...in Phoenix, at least, it was super easy to find legit shops at that price point.

JKs are cheaper parts and tons of aftermarket

Just called them. They quoted me $3,000 for parts a labor, and said they had quote “never heard of nitro gears”

I laughed and hung up. I do appreciate you replying though.

There’s no legal trails nearby but him me up when you settle in. Can grab a beer and check out the Jeeps. Some other guys here invited me to a group thread for wheeling invites too.

Nitro Gears? As in Nitro gear and axle?

Didnt catch the gals name who answered the phone. She just said regearing a jeep front and rear would be $3,000 for parts and labor. I said that was crazy and hung up.

Ah, gotcha - a brand of gears. They seem to be about the same price as Yukon so no clue why you were quoted such a higher price.

Yeah dunno. They hadnt heard of them. The $3k was for yukons.

With regards to Nitro gears, that is what I am going with as I have heard they are the highest quality.

We’ve got a good group of folks that try to stay in touch and wheel when we can (@chevymitchell, @ThirtyOne, @conFUcius, @jdubya421, and @Tar Heel Wrangler to name a few). I think I can speak for the group that we look forward to adding another wheeler to the mix.

Reputable axle shop near me charges $1500 for JL Dana Spicer gears + master overhaul kits. Other shops in Nashville and Knoxville charge $1700. $2k is high.
