The interior matched to the exterior is a nice touch (bikini pearl). Wish this had been a package when I bought my Jeep, would have definitely got the recon.

Edit: I also like that the whole dash isn't red. Never liked that about Rubicons.

While I personally never minded the red dash (I have Granite Crystal so it matches the trim well), I think having bikini pearl accents with red stitching and the hideous red seat belts (that matches nothing else) doesn't work. Just my opinion.

What do you mean with tires? 285-70-17 is stock for Rubicons and I thought Falkens MTs were optional besides the KO2s.
You are correct. All Rubicons come with “33’s”.

I like that they are color matched. I agree that the red and bikini don't go very well together though.

The Recon package features revealed days ago read "33-inch Mud Terrain tires" --see below.

However, the Recon package just uploaded on Jeep.com today shows 285/70R17 MT tires (32.7 inches). So it looks like they are the same size as standard Rubicon, but MTs instead of ATs.

I thought the 285/70/17 is considered to be a 33" tire. I guess it technically measures smaller but that size has always been considered a 33" tire.

To clarify to readers of this thread, below is an itemized breakdown in costs of the Recon Edition compared to a standard Rubicon order. The accent and badging is not included here. If anything is amiss, please notify.

Excellent tally!

The fender vent black stickers are $35 + s&h at Pixel Decals

Thank you for clarifying this, as I tried to do earlier either in this post or on another thread.

Everyone loves to attack these "special" editions so quickly as dumb cosmetics only and restate to the world how they prefer their own build.

Yes, I understand the frustration that these could be actually special but IF you are shopping for a new Jeep AND you already planned to order all of the options in one of these many editions to choose from, it is always a cost savings. That is literally what these are, discounted option packages grouped together.

I nearly spent more money than I needed to based on these comments, until I realized I was saving money by ordering an Altitude instead of a Sport. Plus it came with some nice cosmetic changes that I thought looked good (black grille inserts, badges, and interior)

The lack of accents on the Altitude Edition does look good, imho.

Everything else aside, I wouldn’t get too hung up on the motor. There are way more outrageous things out there than a Jeep with 2L engine, trust me.

I probably already dropped around 20k into my 50k fully optioned out Sahara with 4-cyl motor and not even half way done. So far it performs like a dream, so not sure what the issue is..

Oh and I also like the fact that I have more torque at 3000 rpm than the 3.6 at 6000. Crawls great on the trails, runs smooth in the city. Couldn’t ask for more. Thanks.

Dont forget the BSG E-Torque system with that 2.0. I havent driven either one, but all the reviews say the hybrid system gives it low end torque
