Thanks for the update @Frontal ,

I have no idea what the action being able to do the 4 clicks original purpose was.

I was told twice by a Jeep Dealer, they could not find anything wrong, glad FCA UK will be aware soon.
Mine’s currently in the dealer. Case raised with Jeep and they sent a technician and alarm specialist to investigate. Three sensors replaced and the log is being checked in the mornings to see if the alarm was activated at all. Will report back...
PS another JL was in for the same problem.

Had my JL one month now and my alarm has gone off twice. The idea of the four Klicks on the key fob is to shut the motion sensors off for ferry travel etc where the vehicle or something inside would move while locked. I did have a grand Cherokee that suddenly had a problem with the alarm going off and it turned out to be a moth that hid away during the day and came out at night.

An interesting update for everyone.

My alarm started going off (randomly) about a week ago, and I took it into my local dealer to have a look at.

The dealer (who is always very helpful) opened a case with Jeep UK, and today I went back in for some more diagnostics on the issue.

As part of the case, Jeep phoned my mechanic when I was there, and said that they know there is a problem with a lot of JL Wranglers in the UK, and this afternoon there is a meeting with Jeep UK and the UK installer of the alarms.

The JL's arrive from the US without an alarm, and it is fitted here by a third party.

The amusing thing was that whilst I was waiting the dealership demonstrator Wrangler's alarm started going off as well.

Just got mine back after ten days and a visit by Jeep technical and the alarm company.
Mine was one of three with issues.
Sensors were ‘desensitised’ and car was checked each day to see if the alarm went off after that. I’ve got the Sky one touch roof so not sure if that makes it more susceptible to vibration setting it off.
Anyway... car on driveway now so let’s see what happens........

What happened was that the alarm went off again.
Three times.
Have emailed dealer and jeep asking about a replacement vehicle...

Interestingly enough I'm also based in the UK and was having this problem with my alarm going off randomly, my car then went into the dealer for something completely different and when it came back my alarm no longer makes a sound, almost as if someone had disabled it .... I confirmed this by purposely setting off the alarm via the bonnet catch and locking the doors with the windows open and waving my hands around inside the hazards would flash but no alarm noise would sound.

I was called into the dealer last Thursday to install the new Mopar alarm sensor pack that has just been released as a fix for the ongoing issues.

Hopefully the new sensor pack will result in a UK recall

It took an overnight stay to get all the sensors fitted, but so far so good and the alarm has not gone off........(yet)!

At the same time the dealer looked at the ESS problem that I have been having for the past mont, and as a result of the tests, a new aux battery has been ordered, as the current one failed the test.

Hi Guys

I'm new to the forum and as per the norm it's a problem with the new baby that brought me to these hallowed pages ;)

I purchased my JLU Rubicon back in January. Besides a 'Check Engine Light' issue that took 12 weeks to fix (another story!) I'm also experiencing the same alarm gremlins on the car. My Wrangler randomly trips the alarm a couple of minutes after it's locked too - maybe 5-6 times a month.

I'm based in Aberdeen, Scotland and this thread caught my attention as it seems the over-sensitive alarm issue might be UK-specific. Does anyone have any further info to share on the subject i.e. is there an official tech bulletin/fix released yet?

Thanks. Looking forward to sharing my 'early technology adopter' experiences with the rest of the crew on this forum :)

Hi Gus

Welcome to the club.....

The alarm issue is a well documented one.

The alarms are fitted in the UK Jeeps by a third party, as this is not a standard offering in the US.

There have been multiple cases of alarms going off, and FCA UK are taking it seriously.

Just over a week ago I had the new Mopar alarm sensors fitted, and since then (touch wood) everything has been fine.

FCA sent out a few of the new sensor packs for testing.

From what I understand this fix will result in a recall for UK JL Wranglers.

Your dealer should be well aware of this particular issue.

Forgot to update everyone. Car went in mid April (was away at the time so it didn't matter). All sensors and the controller were replaced. Got car back May 11 and all seems OK - apart from it going off randomly one night when it pissed down. Keep 'em crossed. Anyone know about an official recall for this?

Just a quick update, after six weeks having the new sensors fitted, and the alarm has behaved very well, and not gone off even once.

I think the problem is fixed......

My dealer replaced the sensor in the rear of the car when it went in for the 'steering intermediate shaft' recall and declared it fixed.

It's definitely better, but the alarm still goes off pretty much every time I leave anything bulky in the back or if I make a run to the DIY store and have all the back seats folded down. Must be a twitchy pressure/motion sensor. So I'll be bringing it back up at the next service.

Anyone have a star case reference number for this yet?

Mine's in this week for warranty work and the alarm is on the list.
I've also noticed the alarm seemed to go off more often with the rear seats folded.
Hopefully they will get it sorted as it's annoying when it goes off in the middle of the night and I'm not keen on leaving it with the interior sensors disabled when away from home.
I'll report back on progress. (Or lack of :( )
