Hello All,

Mounting an off road flag to your front tow hooks may have been a simple task for some. However, it took me a while to find a system that worked and being a new member here I wanted to share this to hopefully save someone an exhaustive search

For JL Rubicon Wranglers (Stock Tapered Front Tow Hook Shape) I found this set-up, works pretty good. It will scrape the red paint on the tow hook by the u-bolt, but you can buy touch-up paint if it bothers you:

Hope this helps! :)

Resurrecting an old one…

I have the bracket and quick disco like Jasper above, but wondering if anyone has anything negative to say about using a set up normally for a bike and mounting like this? It’s super solid, and leaves both front row hooks free. I assembled it to full length and made it whip, just bumps up against the top back edge of the soft top

Some places require the flag to be on front of vehicle.
Understood. Rocks and Valleys in Michigan only requires you have one, and it has to be 2ft above the highest point if the vehicle.

I used a cb antenna bracket for the fender, a tusk quick disconnect flag holder bolted to that. I glued some garage floor oil mat stuff to the bracket to protect the fender and hood from scratches.

I used a couple of unistrut brackets covered in a bike inner tube. Takes 30 seconds to remove if necessary for recovery.

Did you attach it to one of the fender bolts, or at the air intake?

Follow-up - bracket and zipties 100% works, everything stayed connected. Bracket will now stay on, it is rock solid and no need to cut it off. Another guy bought the same bracket and screwed it to his front bumper, also worked. So $10 for a flag and mount, not bad. If I go somewhere that requires a front mount, I’ll address it then.

I used a couple of parts I found in the electrical department at Homedepot. I put a bolt through an existing hole in the frame. I used a magnet to hold the washer and nut in place while screwing the bolt. Works great!

I know lots of places require a flag, none of them require a front flag. I'll be sure to do my homework when planning any trips. To be safe, add a mount in the front in case it's required.
