Yikes. I guess I'm rethinking my deal now too. Was pretty set on the Pentastar but I thought it would be juiced up a bit from current. I also didn't expect the turbo number to be that high. I've been thinking that the current trend of putting a turbo on a four cylinder to get high HP at high RPMs was Somewhat marketing driven. We'll see how it does in the actual truck in the real world. I guess I'm hopeful. Since the base is the Pentastar, if I remember right, what are the thoughts on the upcharge to get the Hurricane?

That means the Hurricane will be 2nd most powerful turbo-4 on the market, only behind the Mercedes GLA45 AMG :surprised::clap:

This news completely kills the Pentastar for me, if true. I just MUST have more power. I know, I know, I'm a staunch diesel guy, but patience is running thin & I actually started thinking V6/Manual...

I'll ride this one out and see.

I'm as hopeful as all of you but that seems like a complete typo to me. 250-300 hp out of a turbo 4 seems to be the sweet spot for the industry. 268 seems normal for a 2L; 368 is high even for 2.5L engines. The M133 engine in the CLA45/GLA45 puts out 375hp with 26 lb of boost and MB had to use a whole lot of tricks along with forged pistons and crank to pull that off. I just don't see FCA doing that for a Wrangler but man I hope I'm wrong.

Exactly, I think it’s got to be wrong. Nice to dream though. Wonder what the torque curve looks like.

Interesting to see if the HP number includes the BSG component, but that should only be about 10-25HP difference regardless.

Just seems awfully high for a 2T.

I've never driven a turbo I liked. Can you say turbo lag? I put the pedal to the metal on turbo cars and sometimes they respond instantly and other times not, WTF? Has any manufacturer solved this deficiency? I think not, because if so, everything would be turbo. Personally I would take the diesel over the turbo. I will go with the Pentastar.

I’m the opposite. I can’t go back to natural aspiration ever again.

I haven't driven a newer turbo. True that the older ones had way too much lag. I assumed that had been fixed or they wouldn't be as popular as they are. Maybe not.

I cant lie I'm a little disappointed the V6 is only 285. I thought for sure they would have at least hit the 300 mark especially since the JL is going to be a bigger jeep then before. It will take a lot of willpower to not void the warranty with a supercharger if I go that route :)
