There is no V4 don't believe everything you read on the internet.
Not for mere mortals! V4s are rare outside of motorcycles, but the Porsche 919 LMP1 hybrid uses a ridiculous turbo 2.0L V4 that puts out over 500 hp:

There's pretty much 0 chance that the Hurricane is going to put down 368 hp. But even at 268 hp I can see this being a compelling option over the Pentastar as long as it's got the torque.

Nope, no way, no how. No matter how much we want to believe this, FCA can't violate the laws of physics. When I first read this I let out an involuntary audible shout, but as I considered the implication it quickly became apparent something was wrong here. It's really 268 so, the real news here is we're not getting any more power anywhere, bummer. :(

The correct position is to know the torque and not the horsepower of this engine.

Turbos are great for instant torque at low rpms and consistent power at high altitudes. If you live in Colorado up high the turbo will make for a better daily driver than the 6 cyl naturally aspirated motor. The turbo automatic may feel stronger than the 6 off the line but eventually the 6 would rev up and catch up.

We can say that horsepower complements what torque started,
And it is (The greater the torque increased acceleration and the greater the horsepower increased speed).

It is pretty sad the "new" 3.6 only makes 285 hp. The Cherokee has a 3.2 that makes 271. The Traverse makes 310 hp for 2018 from the Camaro V-6. The only 2.0 that can make close to the claimed 368 hp is the Volvo S60 Polestar but they use both turbo and supercharging on their 2.0 to make 362 HP.

Since the 368 number for the 2.0 is obviously bullshit, it stands to reason that the 285 number for the 3.6 is also bullshit.

Remember that would be in Wrangler guise, the old 3.6 already makes more than 300 HP and more torque as a Ram implementation, so it’s not just about the tech, but about what type of tune FCA wants to saddle it with when putting it in the Wrangler.
Sad if they keep it a low tune with not even the 5HP bump the GC got, because it struggles against the wind at higher speed limits, so every little bit would help.

I'm going to call shenanigans on that 2.0L. I'm a simple guy. When I hear higher HP, I assume poorer fuel economy. I thought the point of a lighter Wrangler and the 2.0L is for better fuel economy.

For the guys calling 368hp from a 2.0 turbo bullshit, AMG has had an engine very close to that. 375hp, 350tq from 2250-5000 rpm, 22mpg city, 28 hwy in this AMG with a 7 speed auto. Check out specs:

https://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/vehi...ass=GLA&model=GLA45W4&waypoint=model-warranty

I still think the diesel will have the best MPG out of the three engines. 22/28 mpg in a 2.0 Wrangler with an 8 speed seems a few too much, maybe more around 20/24 is my guess.
