I just use the gear trays like those shown below. Multi-use, and inexpensive.
This is the one I have: Simple tray (top photo)
(It fits great, but the adhesive doesn’t work. I didn’t think it would hold, so I added three heavy duty 3M strips before I installed it. They fell off on the first hot summer day, even with nothing in the pockets, so I cleaned them up, drilled small holes in the sides, reapplied the strongest two-sided tape I could find, and then secured each side with two screws. They’re firmly in place now.
