JL half doors on 392 Rubicon making it to production?

Even if the 392 Rubicon is a concept car, anyone know if the JL half doors shown in the video are gonna make it to production any time soon?

The 392 and everything else about it have taken a back seat because of the plug in hybrid.

I was just going to ask the same question.

I am ready to replace my JK, which replaced my TJ, with a JL, but can’t get myself to do it without half doors! It’s what I’ve been driving for over a decade and can’t see myself with full doors ever again. Tube doors don’t cut it, and aftermarket attempts at half doors can’t compare either.

The picture of the 392 gives us an idea of what the half doors would look like on a four door JL, and it looks awesome! I’m glad Jeep stayed with the classic low profile design of more openness.

I would be happy with just half doors and a soft top like the old design, but half doors that work with the sliding roof would be awesome.

But notice the half doors on the 392 don’t have the holes to attach the upper halves, so it’s for show, not production. Also they have the design challenge of converting upper half’s that were designed to match soft tops (by being made of soft top material with zipper windows) and making them work with a hard top type surrounds due to the rear side windows/panels (quarter panels?)

Edit: Also they must figure out how to make the rear window above the tailgate removable. You can tell in the picture they just unbolted it.

Jeep, please never stop making Jeeps with the following:
- Rubicon
- Mannual transmission
- Half doors
