This happened back in August of 2018. Surely it has had a cause determined by now ??
I don't think anyone here knows who the owner of that Jeep was though.

This happened back in August of 2018. Surely it has had a cause determined by now ??
Yeah, think it was a battery wrap or something, doesn't seem to be doing it anymore.

Aluminum burns, so that's why the hood is mostly gone.
Aluminum will not combust or burn in a vehicle fire. It melts at 1221F. To actually burn, it would have to get to 4500F. Ain't gonna happen in a car fire. When you see a totally consumed, burnt to the ground vehicle, you'll find puddles of aluminum from wheels, engines, transmission, etc..
