I have a 2018 2 - door still under warranty. At random times I press the brake and push the starter button - nothing. I can try it a half dozen times and nothing yet a half hour later it will start. No clicking and no sound. I've brought it to the dealer multiple times and they cannot verify the problem so they do nothing. It won't happen often but it happens. Anybody else have this problem? I suspect a switch at or near the brake pedal. Any suggestions?

Tried that. It worked once and the next time it didn't. The issue happens with both key fobs and I don't get the"unable to detect key fob" message. At the dealer now for the third time and warranty is up in July. It always starts for them. I've checked the forum and it seems like there are many with the same problem with no solutions. Jeep has to know about it.

While the push start can be nice to have at times they just finally got the old-fashioned key ignition worked out after 70 years. So wait a few more decades and this will all be worked out but by then they will come out with an inplant in your brain to start it. That will be a real pain to take in to figure out what is wrong.

Have you tried: a back up method can be used to operate the ignition switch. Put the nose side of the key fob against the ENGINE START/STOP button, and push to operate the ignition switch.

I had this happen last week. Nothing. Pressed brake hard. Had message to put keyfob to button and press. Nothing. Went in got other fob and worked. No start problem since. ESS hasn't worked for 3 to 4 weeks. Took it in, everything checked out ok and ESS works now. They told me to put a battery tender on it until I start driving it further.

Mine had no codes. Display just said ESS not available battery charging. Took it in to make sure wasn't bad battery. They charged it to full and everything fine.
