Looking for opinions on JL differential cover installation. I am installing aftermarket dif covers and I am trying to decide if I am going to reuses the gaskets. The JL has a decent rubber gasket with metal washers vulcanized into the gasket for the bolt locations. The OEM part is quite expensive. Looking at videos online I have seen people install reusing the OEM gaskets with no RTV, Some with RTV, some people say dich the gasket and just use RTV.

I would love to hear opinions on best practices for sealing the deferential on a JLUR.

I've used both methods before. I say: whatever holds the liquid inside. i just replaced my front diff cover with the MetalCloak one. My gears have already been changed out too, so there's been a few times to get in there. The OEM gasket is nice (and new for me), so i say re-use it until you notice wear. I would prob go RTV next, just because i have some and dont want to buy a gasket.
