What is the range of cost someone should expect to pay for a build like this - where they put Rubicon equipment on their Sahara?I think it was about 2.75 inches after all was said and done, maybe slightly more. It does seem taller when I get in, rides a little rougher as well. Power seems fine, haven't noticed any loss there and same with mpg although I haven't had it on long and I am expecting a slight loss. The biggest difference for me is how much more my tires stick out but that's just my choice of wheels so that's heavily dependent on that setup.
Hey man. Nice looking jeep. Question for you as you may have the answer I'm looking for.Top is stock Sahara suspension and bottom is with Rubi suspension, running 33” KO2’s
I found mine on craigslist. Took 6 months but finally scored a local sale.Hey man. Nice looking jeep. Question for you as you may have the answer I'm looking for.
I also have a JLU Sahara with the BFG K02 tires -"Rubi Takeoffs".
I'm looking to lift my Sahara some (mostly for appearance) but don't really want to change the ride quality dramatically nor do I want a crazy lift to go off-roading.
How did you go about finding the rubi suspension and did you have a local guy install it? I'm no auto mechanic so will definitely have to have someone do it for me. Not looking to break the bank but want the more aggressive look for my Sahara.
I have an order in for a Sting Grey Altitude. The Sahara has 18 wheels standard and there are some threads on those wheels and new tires.Anyone with the JL Sport Altitude 18" stock wheels have pics with new tires?
Thank you, I appreciate it, and I'm happy to finally have everything the way I wanted it.Hey man. Nice looking jeep. Question for you as you may have the answer I'm looking for.

Hell, I'm in St. Louis and I'd have to figure you and your brother's travel and time down here as I will definitely need to outsource the work. ha!Thank you, I appreciate it, and I'm happy to finally have everything the way I wanted it.
I scored the Rubi takeoff from the forums on here, actually in Michigan and worked the shipping cost to Chicagoland into the deal. My brother and I did it over a couple weekends in my garage, should have been very easy but ended up taking longer due to some complications (you only need to swap springs and shocks - not sway bars, sway bar links or really anything else). Initially I bought all the tools I didn't have ahead of time, based on forum posts here, there really is some good info out there if you search enough. Total lift varies from wheel to wheel and is about 1"-1.75" without spacers or leveling kits and etc.
Do the 33"s not fit on stock wheels? I have the 18" stock wheels. Tech polished gray wheel from Jeep.33" NO LIFT !

This is great information and thanks for sharing! By the looks of the rubitrux website it looks like the cost to do a tire, wheel, and lift upgrade via rubicon takeoffs would be roughlyI found mine on craigslist. Took 6 months but finally scored a local sale.
There's a site called rubitrux that usually has them. You'll pay a bit more.
You'll probably want the longer LCA's from the Mopar lift - or adjustable LCA's to get your caster back up.
Install cost should run from $450 - $600 in my experience.
I’m new here but keep your eyes on Facebook marketplace in your area. Or craigslist I guess too. You’ll find a set of new or nearly new Rubi takeoffs (33”j pop up quite frequently as many new Rubicon buyers upgrade their tires pretty quickly. You can usually find them for between $800 on low end up to $1700 or so. I paid $1,100 for mine in St. Louis. This is great information and thanks for sharing! By the looks of the rubitrux website it looks like the cost to do a tire, wheel, and lift upgrade via rubicon takeoffs would be roughly
$2,099 for a set of 5 wheels with 33" KO2's on them
$350 for Rubicon shocks and springs
$600 on the high end for professional install
So this totals $3,049
Does a Wrangler Unlimited Sahara need spacers to fit these wheels and do you need a leveling kit? What does a leveling kit do?
Any other cost I should be aware of that I would want to consider to keep my jeep running nicely?
Do you need to install a heavy duty tire carrier reinforcement kit to carry the 33" tire in the tailgate?
In simple terms it looks like this build for roughly $3k would lift the jeep some and give it a nice look over stock vs going all in and doing a larger lift with 35" tires - am I looking at this correctly?
