Wow, I guess I've won the Lottery numerous times :)

I've owned and purchased new all of the followings:

1987 YJ Sport 2.5L
1990 YJ Sport 2.5L
1999 TJ Sahara L6
2013 JKUR V6
2018 JLUS V6

All on your to avoid list. They have literally been excellent Jeeps except for regular recalls that your whole list went through.

I did however have friends with YJs that had numerous problems, but they were all 4.2L carburator related.

The only one I owned on that list was my '89 YJ, 4.2 Carb. NEVER had a problem with it in the 5 years I owned and drove it about 55k miles.

Bear in mind this is NOT MY list but rather one I came across, I posted for comment...

I have a 2018 jl. Yeah, I'd avoid JLs until the 2021 MY based on the posts on this forum.

If I had half a brain God gave a treefrog, I'd avoid Jeeps altogether. But, that ain't happening.

I had a 2013 JK and never had a problem. Not one warranty item. No leaks on the hard or soft top either. But my wife's 2012 GC Overland was a total lemon.

My 2013 JK Rubicon was borderline lemonade:
  1. Since day one, the cruise control would disengage when hitting a bump
  2. The tie rod and drag link were done at 10,000 miles
  3. The ESC light would come on and go away by itself
  4. The OE battery died after 18 months
  5. The 430N head unit was replaced THREE times!
  6. The TIPM started acting up right when the warranty ended. Thatā€™s when I decided to sell the Jeep.
It was a stunning Commando Green 2-door with matching top and Saddle interior. But it must have been built on a Friday!

2018 JL with 2.0 etorque and canā€™t say I agree with avoid. 43k miles and no real issues. Only thing was the oe battery shitting the bed in a year of owner ship, and then the second oe battery lasting a little longer but still shitting itself. I also have an oil leak that I havenā€™t tracked down yet and dealer swapped the axle shafts cause the seal was leaking in the rear.

And loose fuses which at 4k miles the jeep died when reversing into a spot. Pushed them all in and all was good in the world.
Of course thereā€™s been miscellaneous stuff like the seat rails creaking.

By responding to this thread above I jinxed myself. Yesterday on my drive home from work the crankshaft position sensor failed on my '06 LJ at 132K miles. What a lemon! Stay away from those garbage late TJ/LJ's!

2014 JKU was completely reliable and not a single issue with it.
How long did you have it? The oil cooler cracking is a matter of when on a 2014. Otherwise it's a good year.

Few years, not a single issue, engine was solid. Prior years had the head issue? Didn't hear of the oil cooler cracking though.
