Sounds like my kind of trip. What is the total time commitment before heading up to the farm?

If you are going to run Holy Cross, you might as well run Red Cone Pass and Webster Pass. They are not far from Holy Cross. I liked Red Cone and Webster Pass. It is a big loop. The views and sights are great and the trail is technical enough to be entertaining.

WE finished it in the dark. In this picture you can see the elevation change in less than a 1/4 mile.

It took us about 5 hours to run the loop.

Sounds like my kind of trip. What is the total time commitment before heading up to the farm?

My Jeep will leave NC in May, early June and won't be back until about October.

The Moab, Ouray, Holy Cross portion of the trip is right at 2 weeks.

That's leaving NC on July 20 and returning on Aug 4.

My Jeep will be in a storage unit in Missouri, but @UNC Rubicon will start his drive to get out there on the 20th. I'll likely be riding with him out there, but those logistics haven't been discussed yet.

The Jeep is packed and ready for a 15 day trip to Holy Cross, then Moab, then Ouray, then back to North Carolina.

Tomorrow (this morning?) is the day. I’m meeting @chevymitchell at 6am to begin our journey out west. We will leave Kernersville, NC and drive to Missouri to camp for the night.

I should probably be trying to sleep but this trip is 3 years in the making for me. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve.

Wish I could have joined your adventure, but have one of my own in early September to Colorado. Please get some good pics of Holy Cross and the other BOH trail you hit.

Today was a long one. We made it to Bonner Springs, KS and called it a day - 1020 miles in 14 hours and 50 min behind the wheel.

We’ll get this whole thread updated once we’re settled into the KOA here in Moab.

Broke my rear driveshaft yesterday afternoon trying to climb over the last ledge at the top of Top of the World. Took the driveshaft off and drove out in FWD.

I have an Adam’s 1350 coming overnight from Northridge. @Northridge4x4

They were the only ones I called that had shafts in stock. I paid for overnight shipping.

I’ll swap it out at the campground tomorrow evening.
