@JeepCares - My order has been built for 71 days, and still hasn't shipped. Why?

@JeepCares

VIN: 1C4HJXFG9JW134842

Total order time as of today 4/1/2018: 92 days, or 13.4 weeks.

I have exhausted all communication with my dealer (who has been awesome), Jeep chat, and the "brand mentors".

I ordered on 12/28/2017. My order is simple. Red JLUR, 8-speed, black hardtop, tow, Infotainment, and floor mats.

My order was built 62 days ago on 2/3/2018.
My order sat in JS storage for a few weeks and went KZ on 2/16/2018.

So, I have been KZ status for 44 days and my order has yet to leave Ohio.

I have never had an ETA delivery window.

Hell, my order has been KZR status in the system for 37 days. KZR means "a few days from dealership arrival".

-------------------------------

I have gotten NO explanation as to why my order isn't shipping. No communication without myself initiating contact. nothing.

@JeepCares - WHY is my order being pushed aside while thousands of JL's ordered FAR after mine are shipping and arriving at dealers - INCLUDING vehicles that have KZ'd after mine, and shipped to California.

Watching this one - hope it gets shipped soon.

I would be SHOCKED if resolution or even a response comes from @JeepCares. Maybe the boiler PM us your info etc to make it seem like they can help.

Watching this because I hope @simpleJL can get it figured out and I am very interested in what @JeepCares has to say.

You may also consider:

- Putting this post on the Jeep Facebook page
- posting this on Twitter to @JeepCares
- I would bet most execs at Jeep have an @jeep.com or @fca.com email. Send this as an email to any name you can find with those email addresses using their full name as [email protected] and first initial last [email protected]

Eventually someone may read your message and figure out what is going on.

Hi simpleJL,

I'll get this over to an internal resource and will follow up on this thread once I have more details to share. I expect to have more information by tomorrow afternoon. I appreciate your patience while I look into this.

I'm surprised they didn't start off with

"Congrats on your new 2018 Wrangler order" ( actually means all we care about is money at FCA )

"Due to equipment shortages, your wrangler is delayed" ( actually means, we have no clue what's going on at Toledo )

"We'll get this over to an Internal Resource" ( actually means it's been put into an Italian run company that has a very bad chain of command )

To put it plainly Jeep has mucked up the order and release of the 2018 wrangler, and nobody is willing to take blame for it at FCA or Jeep. Mike Manley has said jack squat about it.... Jeep should never have produced JK's so long into 2018, and should have produced JL's full bore from December 17 onward.

I would move on and order another one. Some others have posted about delays being caused by inspection issues. In the two months that's past since they built yours I'm sure they've improved processes on the assembly line and are turning out a better quality product. Mine was built in March and so far is perfect, no issues. I know that doesn't help you, but like a said there may be a quality control issue they are trying to resolve regardless of what status it's in. I wouldn't want to get a Jeep that came off the line and had to have issues corrected.

Good luck.

On another note, I keep seeing posts that FCA has botched the rollout of this new Jeep. Is that really the case. Are there any other vehicles that are in such high demand for custom orders. I think the fact there are so many custom orders that aren't being tracked properly or delayed for no reason thats causing the perception the roll-out is botch. If there weren't so many orders then this roll-out would be just like any other vehicle for a first year production.

The Honda Pilot I bought in 2016 had for more issues than I'm seeing here. Transmissions and engines blowing up and being replaced, nav system issues, leather seat coves coming undone, Carplay not implemented even though it was on the 2017s with no change in hardware except a mic upgrade, and etc. They didn't work out most of the issues until 2017 model year and then still had transmission problems. I own a 2016 so I can attest to the issues and I've been on their forums quite a bit.

I for one believe this rollout has been mucked up by Jeep. I base that on the facts that jeep opened up the order banks too soon, and produced JK's well into 2018.

But for those that got JLU's they may see it differently, we all have our opinions, in the end I'll still drive and love my Wrangler, but this my third first year model 2 door Jeep, and I have never had these types of issues previously.

I think today is the day I throw in the flag, and put a new order in. So long as my dealer agrees to eat the price increase.

And they agree to expedite the new order somehow. I've seen others do it before.
