Texas Jeep Wrangler JL Tailgate Material

Hey y’all,
I’m trying something out. I just bought a custom wrangler JL. My plan is to collect patches of the places I visit. That’s nothing new in the jeep community. How I plan to stick them might be. Anyway, here’s my question:
Is the inside of the JL tailgate magnetic?

I plan to make the patches magnetic and stick them on the inside. This way I avoid adhesive, but I still get to give my little collection a home. Thanks guys!

Magnets won’t stick to the tailgate, doors, hood or fenders. The tub is steel.

If you are planning to remove the plastic from the inside of the tailgate you could get a sheet of stainless steel, some grades are magnetic, and attach that to the gate.

Looks clean! I’m real bad at committing to permanent things involving expensive stuff, like stickers on the jeep and such, so this is comfortably right up my ally.
