I gotta ask...Is this Jeep Wave thing BS? Does anyone really buy into it? It sound kinda corny, like Jeep is trying to get in on the whole motorcycle wave thing... and be like Harley with the brand recognition. Now I understand that as a brand, Jeep is just as recognizable as HD and ya can't blame the accountants for trying to get on board...It just seems hokey.

Is the four included oil changes legit? Call me skeptical, but I'm just a bit wary of this stuff...

Ok, I'll call you skeptical. What's wrong with free oil change and tire rotation (ignore those that would rather pay for it again and change it themselves), free same day car rental, trip interruption coverage. You paid for it as part of the cost, why not use it?

Used it on the Grand Cherokee as well as on the Rubicon. Have one more left on the Rubi before the mileage kicks me over the limit. Was a nice little benefit.

I like waving at other Jeeps. My previous vehicle was a F-150 FX4 and it was a good vehicle but truth be told I never really noticed when other F-150's were around me. There is something about owning a Jeep that makes me notice every Jeep I pass. Can't explain it but there it is....I will use the free oil changes as it seems wasteful not to. The dealer is literally around the corner so is not inconvenient. After that I will be doing the changes myself as it looks like gravy to do.

I acknowledge and wave at other Wrangler owners. I toss the Jeep Wave literature in the trash.

Not at all. The program is cool for all the perks mentioned above but the actual waving was something Jeep owners did to one another back around the time of the YJ’s and TJ’s. It was like being fraternal brothers with the wave being the secret handshake.

Nowadays most owners are clueless and don’t wave back: they just stare and look confused.

Back in the day (pre-GM ownership), Saab owners used to wave at each other. That stopped in about 1994 when GM bought the company and the new customers just didn't get it.

I have an old Land Rover, and I sometimes get waves from Jeep drivers, especially restored classics, but never from modern Land Rover drivers on their way to the mall.

I have a JL on order and am looking forward to participating in the friendly wave fraternity again.

The Jeep Wave is real, although it was more common in the old days. We wave when driving our Wrangler, although I kept trying in my GC until I eventually received a return wave from a Wrangler driver.

The 4 free oil changes are real. My wife just had the first one done today in her Recon and no upcharge for synthetic, since that is what it calls for in the 2.0L turbo.

My first Jeep was a 88' YJ in 1990, The wave was similar to the wave on motorcycles. There weren't as many Jeeps on the road then and it was like being in a small club of people that totally understood the "Jeep Thing". I still wave today hoping more people will catch on.

I wave at all of them. If they wave back awesome! If they dont i figure they dont know the rules or didnt see me. Hell one of my old posts here a trailhawk renegade covered form end to end waved at me one time and i waved back. Wave at all of them if you are able/not distracted if they wave back smile if not dont let that $hit ruin your day. Ffs as many bikes as i see riding past each other that dont wave at each other i dont think the world is coming to an end. But when i do see two of them wave at each other i think that’s some cool stuff :)

Beyond my time. I would’ve waved though.

Good on you! My first Wrangler was a YJ many, many years after it was long since discontinued. Jeeps on the road back then were (as you mentioned) incredibly rare and the general public kept away because Consumer Reports and the Television told people that Jeeps were unreliable, uncomfortable, dangerous and prone to tilting.

As a child I would pass by the local Jeep dealership on my bicycle and drool over the different TJ Wranglers that they had displayed outside on the show ramp.

I use the free oil changes. I just keep a close look at how much they put in. They overfilled once, and I had them drain a quart out.

I owned a 08 Corvette up till 6 months ago, common for Vett owners to wave to each other. Special USA sport car. Now I own my third jeep, a JL wrangler, jeep wave comes naturally to me as the wrangler is a special vehicle in it's own right. I also own a 2014 JGC.
