How hard is it to raise two fingers off the steering wheel? Wave damn it! The no waiving back non wavers are the WORST!
Honestly, I normally drive with my hand at the bottom of the steering will and maintain my course with two fingers and a thumb. With my other arm relaxed on the center console it’s a hassle to lift it to wave…..every 30 seconds. Can’t a head nod suffice?!

It gets tricky when you wave and it turns out to be a JT. LOL
Are there take backs??? ?
Especially when you are waving and grinning when you see a 392 coming towards you, and it turns out to be a damn JT with a stupid phony hood scoop. It’s so embarrassing. ?

I just moved to Florida and I swear one out of every 10 vehicles I see is a Jeep. I’m about to mount a rubber hand in the window so I can get a break.
LMAO - one out of ten? Where I live almost every other car is a Jeep, you keep your hands up and drive.

In my experience in the few months of ownership, I've noticed the following in my neck of the woods:

When I'm out in the sticks, almost every Jeep waves.

When I'm in the suburbs and city, almost none wave and only few wave back when I initiate.

So, I always wave while driving out in the sticks and usually only wave back when in the burbs and city.

I don't think there's a right or wrong way to do this. No one is going to remember or care about whether someone waved or not after about 10 minutes of driving past. Those who do, probably need to reconsider why exactly they bought a Jeep ?‍♂

I wish I was wise when I was younger. Forget about if it’s a Jeep… wave at pretty women and expensive cars. Don’t know what the odds are but it costs nothing.

Heck— The pretty women in Jeeps seldom wave anymore, and you expect the ones in expensive cars to  Oh yea, some Jeeps are now $100+K, not much difference anymore……Forget it.?

Waving is a thing on motorcycles too. I never initiate a wave but will return one if it's safe. Same thing in my Jeep. Now the duck thing, hasn't happened yet. I don't plan on ducking anyone myself, nor displaying any on the dash I might ever receive. No offense to the wavers or duck crowd. Just a personal choice I have.

With all seriousness, who cares what they think. It’s your Jeep, you do you.

but if you absolutely NEED to get the wave right, review the following decision tree and commit it to memory. You will be tested on this later.

Will paste this to my dash so I get it right!

I only use one finger when I wave. If the other person doesn't wave then they received the proper salute. If they do, and received the same single finger salute then I at least attempted to care. I mean wave.

I have to admit I’m not really that fond of the Jeep wave, there’s just too much pressure. Am i dick if i don’t wave? Should I feel bad if we’re in a who will wave first show down and they wave so late I don’t have time to wave back? What if I wave and they don’t reciprocate? Do they think I’m stupid?

It’s so much pressure. Do I, dont I. FUCK they waved and I missed it.
My rule is I wave only on 2 lane roads and if they dont have an angry grille. If I get a wave back then cool if not whatever. And if I happen to catch someone waving outside of that I will wave back.

I dont drive around like Vin Diesel at all times with my hand on top of the wheel and leaned almost into the passenger seat so there are plenty of times I just dont have reasonable time to get a hand up I don't stress it.

Biggest thing to remember is them being mad is their problem not yours. If not getting a wave back actually upsets them they have some self reflection to do.

Well If I see you I will wave and you don't I chase you down, slash you tires with my hunting knife and then I will break your fingers and wrist, other than that does not bother me at all.

Take away: I have been waving since 1964 when I got my first Corvette, the Jeeps starting in 65 and then in 93 when I go my first Harley. Times have changed the Vette folks don't wave like they used to or the Jeep people or the Harley riders. I would say 50% wave but 50% don't.

That said Common Courtesy would dictate you RETURN a wave. I will say this out in rural Texas you drive past your neighbor's ranch and he waves at you and you don't wave back you get a vist and question as to why no wave?

Waving is a bit more than saying Hi, it's an exchange of goodwill and a common bond. You don't wave back and the other guy takes note of that. 30 min later there are sitting on the side of the road with your Tuxe on and looking at your watch to see how late you are going to be to your wedding. Now the guy drives by that you did not return the wave to, instead of stopping and changing your tire for you he just drives by...think about it!

Or put a decal on your side view mirror. You gotta do something!
I think FL is the Jeep Capital OMG in all the years I driven Jeeps all over the US I have NEVER seen the number of Jeeps like here in FL. Catch a red at a major intersection and count the Jeeps 6, 8 or even 10 and they are all Wranglers.
