So with my new Jeep I get 4 free oil changes and tire rotations for a 2 year period. At most I’ll put 5K per year on the Jeep. Should I just schedule to have this maintenance done every 6 months so is that overkill?

I would do it cause it is free.

I guess it comes down to if you have the time. My dealership is so busy that I'm not too keen on extra dealership visits.

Do it yourself. Super easy (easiest of any vehicle I have ever owned) and you’ll know it’s done right. (Or if you mess up, at least you have only yourself to blame. It happens: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/oil-filter-o-ring-placement-matters.34840/ )

Besides the inconvenience of going to the dealer, too many of them are putting in 6qts of oil (because that’s what the 3.6L V6 took in the previous generation).

A 5 tire rotation is very easy as it only requires that one wheel be jacked at a time.

Here’s the note I keep on my iPhone to keep things easy:

Oil:
5q 0w20

Oil Filter:
MOPAR MO-349 68191349AB/AC
Mobil 1: M1C-456A

Air Filter:
MOPAR 68257030AA
8mm socket

Cabin Filter:
MOPAR 68301863AA

Tools:
22mm lugs
13mm drain plug
24mm oil filter cap (torqued to 18lbs)

Pull F11 & F97 to reset UConnect
(Edit: this is not a maintenance item, just a “note to self”)

Please update your profile - there is no such thing as a "2020 JKUR".

I change my own but never reset UCconnect... is this necessary?
Not sure why anyone would pull fuses...

You just go into the “vehicle information” screen, scroll over to oil change reset and hold down the “okay” button on the steering wheel.

No. Just a tidbit I put in my notes for when it (inevitably) flakes out and needs a reboot.

Correct. I just had that as a note to myself. It’s not part of my maintenance routine. (Actually I have a Tazer and use that for reboots when needed, but just kept the fuse info in my notes in case.)

I’m coming up on my last free oil change and gonna be done with them unless I have a warranty issue, the dealer is pretty worthless, as far as tires go I go to my DT that I have been going to for almost 10 years and they rotate for free and only takes about 15-20 mins

So it's kinda like the change to/from Daylight Savings, when you're supposed to change the smoke detector batteries. You don't have to, but you do anyways. ;)

I wish I only had to reboot it twice a year. In reality, I lose my backup lines or the volume decides it will only put out 1/2 power every several weeks. I use my Tazer to do a full reboot and all is well. Pulling those fuses also works, but then you lose your color scheme and stuff and have to set it back up which is more annoying than no backup lines.

It's nice that we have the 4 "FREE" oil changes and tire rotations, but like a lot of others here, NO THANK YOU... I will do it myself. It's not worth the hassle and enormous extra time in waiting for the work to be done and keeping your fingers crossed that they don't screw up something else or put 6 quarts in your engine, etc. My 1st oil change at 1004 miles was incredibly simple and easy. But, I understand for those that are not mechanically inclined or do not have a place to do the work.

Besides, I am using 5-30 weight oil (Amsoil) instead of 0-20 weight for reasons that have already been posted.
