Auburn Hills, Mich. - Stellantis/FCA has announced that for the 2023 Model Year all Wranglers and Gladiators will now come standard with the third generation of the ZF 850RE 8 speed automatic transmission. The transmission, previously a $2,000 option on Wranglers and Gladiators, will be available on all engine choices across the legendary Jeep Brand lineup.

“Our customers will appreciate the convenience and simplicity of their Jeep making all shift decisions for itself, allowing the driver to concentrate more on the open air surroundings that Jeep has made possible for over 81 years.”, said J.C. Matthew, FCA Spokesman. “We are excited to continue to innovate new and diverse drivetrain options in all of or products available around the world, except Russia, especially the hybrid 4XE platforms which will be available across all platforms in 2023.”

Base prices are not expected to increase with this announcement as the cost savings of the 33% reduction in pedals under the dash will be amortized into the change.

Jeep is proud to continue its 81 year tradition of safety, stability and ease of driving. From 1941 when we made our first Jeeps for the US Army to today, Jeep has become synonymous with continuous improvement by reminding customers of its heritage with innovative new Easter eggs and retaining unchanged over those 81 years the important parts that Jeep enthusiasts are proud to continuously employ, such as the legendary schraeder valve installed lovingly in each wheel.

I don't trust any announcements that come out today.

Question for those of you who row your own gears…
Has having a stick shift ever hurt your ability to “concentrate more on the open air surroundings”?
I’m guessing no… Talk about your corporate babblespeak!

That's how you can tell it's fake - Jeep not increasing prices!?!? HA!

such as the legendary schraeder valve installed lovingly in each wheel.

The giveaway was "Base prices are not expected to increase"

That line was hilarious.
