There are a lot of negative threads here, lets show some love for our rides. What about your JL wrangler has impressed you the most or has been a positive surprise?

I'll start with a positive surprise. I bought my Wrangler as a mid-life crisis toy and expected it to be a total POS quality wise. I have been completely surprised on how reliable and problem free it has been. It has been more reliable than GM products that I've owned in the past almost on-par with my Hondas but way more fun to drive.

Lol. Would be a nice change of pace that's for sure. I love my Jeep all squeaky, rattling non adjustable seat, blah, blah and 16-18 MPG gallon of it.

wife got her JL first. I drove it once and instantly fell in love so I ordered mine a couple weeks later. My first time owning an American brand vehicle and have been very impressed with its performance, looks and quality so far.

We’ve owned/leased Toyotas for the past 30 years and have definitely seen their quality deteriorate. Quality of materials suck, workmanship has declined and they really lack on the performance side.

I bought a ‘18 JL rubicon and I loved it so much after 4 years I sold it and bought my wife a reign 392 Rubicon XR. I then missed having a daily JL so after about 10 months I bought a ‘new to me’ HellaYella Sahara. We daily both our jeeps and they are fantastic.

4 Jeeps ago, I bought a TJ. Thinking back, what I had to change to make it do what my JLUR on 37s can do was insane. D35 axle swap, regear, front and rear lockers, tummy tuck, SYE, Antirock, outboarded shocks, etc. I probably sunk the same amount of $$ building that old TJ than I have in the JLUR.
I've never had a problem with any of my Jeeps that I didn't cause.

Had a 2005 TJ Rubicon I used to wheel all the time. I loved that thing - was permanent topless and perfect. Practicality and kids got in the way and I sold it. I've regretted it ever since. Fast forward to a couple years ago - my wife and I needed something we could tow behind the motorhome. The list of cars you can flat tow is pretty short and is mostly made up of little econoboxes. Except for the Jeep Wrangler. It was made to be towed. I told myself I'd keep it stock for a couple of years. I didn't even last a couple of months ? .

I didn't think I'd get back into wheeling but I've been out with a few from this group and have forgotten how much fun it is. The bonus is I get to get my daughters off-road and they love it. I don't ever plan on selling this one unless I'm replacing it with another.

As OP stated, the quality is better than I expected but the biggest benefit is how easy it is to work on myself.

I’m impressed with how much I really love this machine.

As a born and bred Ford guy I have become turned off by their quality issues. My TRX has made all other vehicles feel cheap. I decided it was time to let go of my 2013 GT500 Convertible for something I could drive more than 8 times a year, but still enjoy an open-air ride in the summer. I live in the country and wanted something more suited to gravel, mud and year-round use. The only two real options are the Bronco and Wrangler. The first time I ever drove a Wrangler was when I test drove one. Not as refined as a TRX but still so much fun! In fact I find myself driving my 392 more than I thought I would! 35’s are in my future when it time to replace the tires. (The TRX needs tires right now, 42K miles, so the 392 has to wait)

I love my jeep. It's my first one and it continues to surprise me with it's off road ability. And I have said this before, you can wheel the crap out of this thing on black top as well.

If you want to know if jeeps/JLs are reliable? Google it.

It will say something like this. "Jeep Wrangler is very reliable" why? Because a lot of wranglers go places and get beat on unlike other vehicles.

Try putting almost any other vehicle, any of them through what wranglers go through and see how they hold up.

So no issues so far and fun to drive? Sounds like it’s time to sell! ??

My 2018 has been the most fun to drive. Way more than the 4Runners and Taco’s I’ve had. And it was available with a manual transmission. Can’t beat the top down cruising on trails or on the road with the great sound system blasting.

"squeaky, rattling" sounds like you aren't listening to your music loud enough!

I love my Jeep! It makes me smile every time I get behind the wheel. I love that it takes me on all the adventures I want to go on. I love waving to little kids who seem to be excited to see a bright blue jeep going down the street. I love that I can say that all the upgrades I did myself. I love taking the top and doors off and cruising around the desert with the wind in my hair and the music blaring loud.

Sure, my old Tacoma from 12 years ago was more reliable. But this is way more fun!

I’ve had a YJ, TJ, JKUR and now my stable consists of a JLR and a JT. I’ve never had a major problem with any of them. I don’t beat them up like some do, but think they are just as reliable as anything else. Abuse them and you’ll have some things that need fixing.

I smile every time I get behind the wheel.

Coming from my second Cadillac CTS4 wagon, I stepped into a Jeep about a month after test driving a JL. I needed a utilitarian a** end on a vehicle like my Caddy wagon had. Room for the dog and five people without going all huge SUV or super spendy foreign wagon. The Jeep fits the bill perfectly. Having had my Caddy’s customized, I really love that the Wrangler has pretty much endless amounts of customization available, granted my bank account needs to be able to take the hits. That’s what makes the vehicle so fun. Also, I think people seeing a Great Pyrenees hanging out of, drool streaming out of the Jeep makes them smile.
