Posting this after numerous requests on the specifics of my install. My goal was to add an OEM look third row with fold/tumble feature and with working seat belts. I began with the goal of shoulder belts with the roll bar extender but i'm not willing to give up my soft top at the moment so I went with lap belts.

Here are the parts:
1. JK OEM leather rear fold/tumble bench
2. JKU 3rd aftermarket brackets (not sure what brand. bought everything together from a seller).
3. 1/2" nuts/bolts, weather strip, silicone.

Here are the photos. The most time consuming part is measuring everything out. At the moment, all features work. But to drop my top all the way from safari mode, I need to fold the seat once then reopen. The headrests need to be taken off for full fold/tumble. Legroom is very reasonable for my 12 year old and the seats are very comfortable.

Not much information out there on this project on JL's. Hope this gives you a way forward if you're looking for a solution.

Need to clean up the carpet area. Plan to use the OEM Mopar All Weather cargo mats in the rear. Will need to probably trim them.

The factory seat belt receiver wouldn't work with my cheap amazon seat belt. I tucked it in and mounted the aftermarket ones.

Riddle: how do you know for sure that this impressive build isn't MOPAR blessed?

If it were, when the kids prematurely unbuckled their 3rd row safety belts while Marc, the OP, guided his hitched boat into the water, the vehicle would be thrown into AutoPark.;)

Would love to have this as a factory or dealer installed option. Maybe the next generation?

Sorry for necro digging this, but is there a pic of the bracket not mounted? im looking at doing this to my JLU i found some bracket for JK online but is seem to not fit with the layout of the JL Cargo area. Did the bracket used by OP being cut to fit?
Thanks :)

Well good to see American Ingenuity is alive and well. Being a child of the 70/80s we definitely would of had that mod to our Jeeps back then.

Your work is amazing, I would never attempt it, but amazing nonetheless.

really need a single seat version of this for the 2door. Not to go behind the back seat, but a single seat to replace the back seat when it's out. Flip and fold single would be great not required. The 2door needs a three-person road trip/camping option.

This is awesome I know some people are concerned about safety saying it’s not OEM so it has not been crash tested but are any 3 row suvs crash tested for 3rd row safety? I don’t this there is a standard for rear impact in a 3 row maybe I’m wrong but i could not find it.
