Hi all,
I researched all sorts of motorized Jeep lifts online and on this forum. I cam across this video from Greg Wessels. Very cool idea.

I modified his design for my 13 foot vaulted ceiling with no attic access. I decided to do a center pull from the hoist to four pulleys based on his schematic. This was a relatively time consuming and complex build to get it to work correctly, hit the ceiling joists, and make a custom strong wood mount for the hoist. All the parts list are available in his directions. I added the 2.5 pound lead ballasts to keep the tension on the cables when not storing the Jeep top. Greg's design has pretty heavy chains that recess into the ceiling. Take a look at all the videos and ping me with any questions.
thanks,
Marc
