They don’t make you wear steel or safety toe boots or shoes. I make my team where them. But I went to up to New England a couple years ago to buy a machine and the operators were wearing flip flops....

I’ll share the story about the machine another time...

I only wear my toe shoes walkin in and out. I wear work shoes/boots on the sort floor. No steel toes though. Not mandatory anymore, and they wear the skin off my toes.

Took the brunt of a 200lbs crate to the knee, and my coworker got his hand bruised pretty bad by it too. All because someone loaded it like shit into the can. So when we went to open it it crashed down out of the can. That was fun. Put volteran gel and lydicane on it pretty quickly, and got it ace bandaged. Will see how it feels when I get up, but pretty sure I'll be wearing a brace tomorrow.
