I'll put chrome ones on the lower powered impact/ratchets but not on what the Ambassador and I call "big Bertha"! aka the one pictured.
Izzat a bung bong?
The only thing that I'm too scared to put on an impact for even a little job is a u-joint style wobbly. Done that exactly ONCE. Damn near blew my face off.I'll put chrome ones on the lower powered impact/ratchets but not on what the Ambassador and I call "big Bertha"! aka the one pictured.
All I know is I hope they washed itIzzat a bung bong?
Yeah, you shouldn't do that. The only thing that I'm too scared to put on an impact for even a little job is a u-joint style wobbly. Done that exactly ONCE. Damn near blew my face off.
As opposed to the communist system where you get sent to the gulag if you don't want to work for starvation wages...
It was the difference between getting the job done and not, so I opted to get it done. "How bad could it be?"Yeah, you shouldn't do that.
My 2 cents, the whole "understaffed" excuse is played out. I don't care if it is because "the company does not pay enough" or "people don't want to work anymore" or "I just want to work from home" etc. etc. etc. At this point, the company is not "understaffed", it is "over - committed". I am trying not to do business anymore with any business the over promises and under delivers now days (they all know their capacities, facilities, equipment and staffing restrictions). This has happened for me with UPS, American Airlines, one specific sponsor on this forum and a few others companies. You can blame all of this on COVID, inflation or stereotyped entitled generations but the real problem is corporate leaders (or lack there of) not leading companies to be customer focused
Is that combat loaded or spread loaded?I am packed and Carla and I will be living out of a tent for the next three to four weeks. Sometimes I even amaze myself what I can talk my wife into. This is what the inside of the Jeep looks like packed.
Mr. Business will be staying on top of the fridge when not on Carla’s lap.
We will get an occasional hotel. Should be an adventure.
That's not a jam nut that is a custom made security fastener requiring specialized tools for removal.Mornin folks, hope y'all's weekends were great!
Lots of work for my weekend out this way. Got the shed and shop reorganized, shop's got a little more spaciousness to it now. It's only a 16x20, so every little bit counts. Installed the Teraflex tire carrier this weekend and FUCK. I'll do a full write up in the build thread, but just an indication of how Sunday went - the below is the former insides of a jam nut:
And the below is outside of the other jam nut:
Man, I wish it was that way for both of them, would've made that job so much easier. The one that turned into a helicoil basically became a washer that'd let itself go and couldn't fit into its size 22mm socket anymore. That's not a jam nut that is a custom made security fastener requiring specialized tools for removal.
