sweet looking ford. my uncle had a 77 f-100 explorer (bought new) 6 with 3 on tree. i love that truck and would of taken it. the problem was it was so rusted out. ended up in the scrapyard about 10 years ago. but did sell the motor to a boat owner. that motor was one hell of a strong motor.
Thanks, bought it from my Grand Dad, rebuilt the motor and lifted it when I was 17 and drove it to high school senior year. Motor is strong! Needs a complete reboot now. That's the original paint too!

Hell, back in the day, we couldn't wait to leave.......now you can't get them out with a crow bar.....
I enlisted in the Army just to pay my loans and to get away. I chose a duty station in San Diego, CA for my career after being raised on the East coast. If you ask the brain Can't, its because I felt I failed my dad and wanted to prove myself on my own.

nice looking truck 194?
'50 3/4 ton, 235 straight 6. Changed rear to a 3.42, disc's on the front, complete rewire, new interior, new wood bed, prolly 100 other things.....then sold him (Ernest) a few years ago. Had him 14 years. Lots fun but time for something different. I do miss him though.

Holy hell, lesson learned for the day is donā€™t let people borrow your truck that day they know how to operate

A so called friend of my dadā€™s called to ask if he and his ā€œexpert transport driverā€ brother could borrow his truck to move a trailer. Trying to be the nice guy he said yes. They showed up, and right away he said he shouldā€™ve said no, the guy didnā€™t know to push the clutch in to start it to even look at the knob for starters before asking the gear pattern
They claimed they checked, but I could see wear on the locking pin it wasnā€™t fully in. They dropped the 5th wheel on his truck

Funny, had the same year Ford also w/ the inline 6 and 3 on the column, was the most reliable vehicle I had in the late 70s to early 80s, drove the crap out of that one. I sold it and got the biggest POS I ever owned, a 73 Blazer, but at least that built 383 sounded badass :)
