One of my destinations yesterday was the bottom-side of Heart-attack hill. Basically from the opposite direction that I took a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to see it with my own two eyes. Yeah, it's steeper and scarier in-person than the videos/pictures show.
That's Jessie standing at the top. One of two bikers who'd just rode up it. He was quite chatty but a nice chap.
The trail to get there was quite fun and required 4-low and some steep climbs and drop-offs in a few places.
About 52 miles of froading (round-trip) to get there and back from our base-camp.

Yep, bad enough when it was 17 zip. I watched something else for a short while, switch back and it's now 31-0. Guess the Eagles were just there to give the Bucs a tune up game.This is a tough day to be an Eagles fan!
My previous employer had a 1-ton Chevy crew cab 4WD truck. I don't recall the year but it was the last year of the C/K square bodies and had an injected 350. It may have been a '90. It also had about a 20 gallon tank and a 4.10 rear (and a 4.56 front axle, so 4WD was useless), so it wouldn't pass anything on the road, especially gas stations. For reasons unknown, anything more than about 1/4 throttle on a gas nozzle would shut it off, so fill-ups were agonizingly slow. I've had more than one person calling me a cunt because of that epitome of automotive engineering.I guess I am a 'B' type on occasion.
Which brings me to today's episode of "Cunts in Action". I go out for lunch/fuel/HFT run and stop at the Costco gas station. I pull in to a lane and just as I do 3 cars move up to the pumps and start pumping. I'm at the back of the next 3 set of cars. Well the last two cars at the pumps finish filling up and pull out, the guy in a KIA Sorrento at the front still hasn't even started pumping. The two cars in front of me move up to the pumps and start pumping. Another few minutes go by and the KIA dude still hasn't started, he's fiddling with his card and the keypad like he's having an issue. Finally he gets the nozzle in his vehicle and starts pumping as the two people that were in front of me waiting are now finished and leave. As the guy who is directly in front of me finishes up he looks at me and smiles and shakes his head because he knows what the other guy is doing, too. So I pull up behind this guy and start pumping. My vehicle is near empty and takes almost 18 gallons. When I finish I look at the guy's pump and now he's at about 5 gallons in the time I did 18 gallons. So it took this over 3 full cycles of other people/fill-ups to pump 5 gallons of gas. I could tell he was just one of those people that likes to be slow to inconvenience/frustrate other people.

You have no idea how difficult it is to line up NVGs, binoculars, and a phone camera.Some people just sit back and watch the world burn. Apparently I am one.
