nobody likes coal or petroleum and nuclear is definitely out, wind power apparently pre-slices the ducks, and once they figure out the acreage per kWh of solar that will be a big no-no.... Glad I won't be around to see it.
I wouldn't discount nuclear power. Advancements have been made and there are starting to be things that can be done with the spent fuel.

Sandwiching a bit between crystal apparently builds a battery that can last centuries.

Also, we are only 30 years away from fusion generators.

What I never understood is why not put solar panels over parking lots. You can generate some electricity and people get to park in the shade.
I've seen that in quite a few places.
