FWIW, the new Dynatrac ball joints seem to have really solidified the front end. I had 3 slow speed death wobbles last week which got me a little worried, and thus the ball joints. Why them, you ask...well I have a full Metalcloak steering system, all connections are tight. I also have a Rusty's track bar bracket brace, so I know I'm not getting any deflection there. The only thing left was the BJ's and the aluminum steering box. I have a feeling getting the box replaced will be a fight, and honestly my steering is just about perfect. I'll know more tomorrow when I drive in to work whilst it's colder, that's when most of my front end shimmies and wobbles happen.

Back story to that is ever since I installed the MC 2.5" lift I've had weird front end shimmies and short lived wobbles that corrected themselves after about 5 oscillations, even with stock tires and wheels. Putting on the 37's and KMC beadlocks didn't change that. Also, I've had a weird knocking noise in the frontend when I'm froading while on high frequency bumps (washboard and rocky roads). Sounds like a loose shock, but they're tight. Hoping the sound was the ball joints, but I won't know until the next froading event.

I'm hoping the new components solve a mystery clunk I've been chasing for months, but I have a feeling it's drag link flop and it will still be there. I, too, get DW every now and then. Sometimes I'll get a few shimmies (like it wants to go full DW) but then it stops, but other times I have to come to a near complete stop to make it stop. I'm hoping the new components improve that sitch as well.

Sounds similar for sure. What was confusing to me was no issues before the lift, then had some anomolies right off the get on stock wheels and tires. It didn't get worse with 37's, so I installed the MC steering with no change. Then I installed the track bar brace with no change. I decided to live with it until the death wobbles started. I just can't see aluminum knuckles causing that, not that I don't want to upgrade, but one step at a time.

I've had some gear oil coming out on the drivers side, but I think I overfilled when I installed the MC diff cover / skid, so what I'm seeing might be from that...I hope.

I dunno nuffink, and have had zero probs with my own front end, but...

I have read a ton of people who said that the new steering box was a major step up.

What's your total toe-in? I chased a shimmy that shouldn't have been there after upgrading near everything. Rechecked torque on everything several times and couldn't nail it. Roky suggested I check the toe and try 1/16" total toe-in. Mine was a hair over 1/8". I was skeptical that such a small change would do anything, but wow I was wrong. All shimmers were gone.

Not saying that's your magic ticket, but you never know.

I'm pretty sure I set it to about 1/16th when I put the synergy steering bits in. I'm going to recheck it after I get the front axle all back together. Thanks for the tip.

Maybe the sizes they're still selling are the only sizes that people were buying!
I guess Monster Truck Rallies still happen.

Except that they did. The first thing they did was order a whole new seat. Only, they ordered the driver seat, not the passenger seat. Then they ordered the passenger seat. Only, it wasn't the seat that was the problem, it was the rail. Then they ordered the rail, which we're still waiting for.
Well... The reading comprehension isn't very strong with them... :headbang:
