Crawling with a manual seems to be easier in some ways and harder in others. Not as much "finesse" with a manual for sure, but it can be done.

The rolling back thing is totally avoidable with a bit of three pedal work, but I like the emergency brake addition. Will have to play.

I didn't like hill assist in the slightest as it doesn't disengage smoothly and you end up jerking forward when you want to start up slowly. Almost slipped off the rock and it would have landed on my then unprotected oil pan. Nope.
Froad, in low range, start in gear, no clutch, no rollback. Tis a bit hard on the starter, but one benefit of having ESS is a stouter starter. Say that 3 times fast without a stutter!

Hope this hasn't been posted too many times.

I was told years ago that a Jeep/Bronco/Land Rover is a 4WD, and a 4x4 is a piece of lumber. Now stickered on the side of every 4WD pickup is a proclamation that it's a chunk of wood! And the reason for that is that it used to be obvious if a truck was or wasn't 4WD. Now 2 and 4 wheel drive are both the same height.

The first photo is funny but true- I have a Honda lawnmower. And a Honda weedeater (sorry Weedeater, I meant string trimmer).

Yeah, I found this out the hard way. I cut those fuckin' things down to 4" stumps a couple years ago and now they're 15 ft. tall!

The Vietnamese folks who owned this place before me went crazy on planting stuff. I'm still finding new varieties out there. What pisses me off is the stuff I like...the plum tree, the Dragon fruit, peaches, etc. don't put out much fruit. The pomegranate, guava (another one that I don't get, full of BB-like seeds) and persimmon trees put out a shit-ton of fruit. The Jujubes are just getting ripe. They're at least edible and not terribly sweet.

Your lack of dedication to the JHWR is hereby noted.
My dedication is taking a serious hit while a try to finish building our house - my wife actually believed me when I said 30 Sep looked like a good finish date (and promised we'd be out of the rental by then).

Anyone who has built a house knows the estimated completion date is about as hard as jello. Now, besides finishing the house, I am moving stuff into it too (luckily we have a huge attic).

Just makin a funny at your expense.

Try living in the basement while your house is being built above. As soon as they opened the “roof” of the basement to set the posts, it rained like a bastard. Much of the ceiling insulation in the basement became soggy bombs.

There a few other heartwarming stories too. 😀

Just when you think you got it all out, guess what? I’m BACK!
A proper application of plastic explosives should do the trick though.
Works on possessed rose bushes that refuse to die...

In Virginia we have zombie trees called sweet gums. You cut them down and think you've killed them, and they keep coming back from the dead. They grow like weeds. They're useless as firewood- you can't split them, and if you burn a cord of gum you'll have two cords of ashes. The wood is soft and you can hear it rot on a quiet night, but it can be pretty- it's a blend of blonde, brown, and green.
