Unfortunately my Nephew recently discovered why some Minis had a bad reputation... Just a few weeks after getting one he was facing a $4000 engine replacement over a ruptured head gasket.

Yeah, the one we purchased had an engine replaced by the original owner due to this. Your nephew didn't live in Florida did he? I did some magnum PI reaearch when buying it and ended up talking with the mechanic that did the work - surprising that I was able to track down and that people would speak with me. Helped me feel comfortable with the purchase tho.

Tennessee. And he didn't go through with replacing the engine, so my brother sold it and they bought a Nissan Altima to replace it.

Just wow. Apparently the, "Your warranty is about to expire" crap applies to more than cars. I'm getting deluged with emails, letters, and calls regarding my laptop's warranty.

lol. I think it just works in that color better than the others. I was never a fan of the Idea of having painted bumpers on a Jeep.
