This is what I'm reading:
Can't forget about the beans too. It is used for feed, biodiesel, plastics and adhesives, food, and many other things as well. Apparently a lot of it gets turned into tofu and exported, I hear that is something you coasties like. You can have as much as you want.

Can't get over how good Palisade Peaches are too. I buy what I can get a hold of every year.

Also some tasty honey too. Unexpected treasures.
Those were pretty damn good.

What's up with O'Brien county? Are we supposed to believe that they don't produce corn there?

Looks like they do, but maybe they keep it for the dairy farms? I've never been up in that corner.

I've had it breaded and fried up like General Tso's chicken. Its the only time I've been able to eat it without gagging.

I've had tofu in a strudel and it was not the worst part of it, that crown belongs to the eggplant. My cousins from WA brought some tofu hotdogs here once and soy milk ... I never tried any of their food again.

We grow more than anyone else, but it is the corn your food eats or the corn you put in your fuel tank, or the corn that is an ingredient in some food you eat (corn starch/syrup), or for some plastics and adhesives, and many other things you use daily. But chances are your corn on the cob isn't from us.

[edit] Not to say we don't grow it, we have sweet corn festivals that are all you can eat corn on the cob from locally grown sweet corn, but maybe we save the good shit for ourselves.
Yep, nothing worse than biting into some corn on the cob to find out the person bought or planted feed corn:-(. My wife is always buying corn and saying look how big the kernels are after husking it - I have to tell her the bigger the kernel the closer it is (or is) to feed corn - tougher, less flavor and no amount of butter can correct it:).

I learned the hard way between field corn and sweet corn. "Acquired" some corn one day...and it tasted TERRIBLE. Who knew there was a difference. HAHA

It isn't terrible if you know what you are eating in advance, but like I said, it isn't great.

Chimichanga Friday

Now you brought back memories and hunger. Every time we deployed to Yuma, AZ we'd eat several times at Chretin's (hope it's still as good as it was in the 80s/90s). I'd always have their Chimichanga (now called the 1946 Chimichanga) which was the size of a small football or so back in the day - pic of one on their menu now:
