The rescue is running on backup heaters today...the boiler was malfunctioning when I came in this morning. The good news is that we're so well insulated that it only went down to 62 in here overnight (it was 12 outside), and we do HAVE backup heaters. Got a call in to the HVAC people. Why does this always happen on Sunday?

Truth! But my dad, the mechanical engineer, taught me that 90% of survival is just outwitting that bastard. Thus a set of four 1500W backup heaters, plus a printed list of where to plug them in and what to unplug so as not to pop breakers. And yes, there's a 10KW standby generator. And 50 gal of bottled water. And a month's worth of frozen and dry parrot foods. My mama did raise a couple idiots...but I'm not one of them.

Check out Horizon Zero Dawn if adventure/story telling games are your thing..... It's one of the best games I've played in a long ass time.
