Keep the faith - I think the concurrent disability pay legislation was in limbo for years. Downside I think the one of the main reasons it made it through was it was pushed hard after 9/11 and the support for anything military was very high at the time (still took until 2004 to be signed into law). For my particular case, I wouldn't get them concurrently. Since the condition that caused my retirement is only rated at 30% (total rating is 70% when you add in all of the little things) I would get the greater value between my retired pay vs VA disability pay. I wasn't in for 15 years, so I don't get retired pay, so it just defaults to the VA for me.
A while back there was some legislation introduced to allow concurrent pay for those of us that served less than 20 years, but I think that bill is still in limbo.
Change order: Add insulation to GarageTried to get my garage insulated when it was being built. Nope.
Couldn't even bribe the workers to put insulation up before the dry wall.
Looks great - I always have them install insulated garage doors on our homes when built (even in the south). As promised, I got'r done this mornin:
WTF??? that sucks.Tried to get my garage insulated when it was being built. Nope.

Who was the builder? It seemed when we were stationed out west more of the homes were built by the large building companies (Pulte, DR Horton, Etc). They can be let's say less than flexible - especially if the option/upgrade you want isn't on their list. Small local builders are a lot more flexible , if you got money they'll pretty much do what you want.Tried to get my garage insulated when it was being built. Nope.
