That cabin has a very open concept...Some few pics we took along the way.
Bunch of great views and nooks that can hide mountain lions fairly well.
We finally found camp and setup. But before the meals were cooked, the wind picked up and blew the tents over and threatened to blow the fire into the surrounding trees.
So we emptied the rest of our water to put it out and headed back down trail to a cave we found along the way.
Near as we can tell, it was used as a storage shed by the old miners. Big enough that it had an existing fire pit. Vented well with air coming into the entrance and then up and out through several escapes around back.
Out of the wind, we hiked a half mile back to the creek to refill water supplies. Dinner and a couple of brews in a cave with a fire. What more can you ask for?
Oh yeah, the ankle: Maybe later. I have yard work to finish before Father's Day dinner tonight.
@Mikeoso is this accurate?? Lol
Zucchini flower fried.What am I looking at here? Jalapeno?
Prefer the term "sperm donor"...Happy Father's Day to all the breeders!
Hope the day was spent with family and friends.
It's very exposed to the elements. They stopped using it in 1913, so not terrible shape for that long unused.That cabin has a very open concept...

I bought myself a father's Day gift since my daughters are all off in different parts of the world.Since it's father's day, I decided to treat myself to vacuuming the house. Don't hate me.
PMan is not gonna be happy.
You can gladly have some of the rain we had yesterday from Claudette - little over 4". Miss and Ala received a lot more.Needing some rain here...a little cooler temps would be good also.
