We have a 2021 80th edition, built in November, that has the old style console. We moved your organizer from the 2019 to 80th with no issue. I picked up my 2021 JLUR last Wednesday, built January 2021, and it has the new console. Went to move my organizer over and the bottom section does not fit. Both are the 3.6 eTorque w/8sp automatic.
This is exactly the issue we are trying to solve. It seems like Jeep needed a couple inches directly under the console for some feature. What could the feature/option be?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they made a floorpan change to accommodate something for the 4xe or the 392. Rather than make two floorpans, they decided to use the new one for all jeeps made after a certain date and made a few small interior adjustments across the line.

Hello,

We make the Vehicle OCD brand center console divider and center console tray for the JL/JLU. Recently we have heard from a couple customers about a new and different center console on their 2021 Rubicon JLU. It is not as deep and has a different footprint. We have verified this with the Jeep parts department and ordered the rubber mat at the bottom of the console. See the picture 2021 version on the right.

All of the 2021 JLU Rubicons we have seen at the dealership have the same console as 2018-2020. We need help understanding which models get which center console. What feature would cause it it to be specific to a certian model. We have come up empty with dealerships and parts departments. Need some help from the experts here on the forum. Ideas??

Here are a couple VIN numbers to start the detective work. Both have the new console. Both automatic, one 4cyl turbo, one V6. First though was new V8 or Electric, but nope.

Pull the consoles out of each design to see what's under there, or find the Jeep Wrangler product line engineer and ask. Could be a vendor change or as stated above, or a product change. There is an electronic module under the console, but I don't know what the module is for.

I have your top tray organizer and love it. I don't have the divider for the lower compartment area because I need to store larger items in that compartment.

Would you mind posting your VIN to help with the detective work? That would give us yours plus the two in the first post. Thanks!
Here is the VIN for mine that has the new console style: 1C4HJXFG6MW627785

The 80th Anniversary edition and mine are almost identical from an option and mechanical perspective. Hers has the selec-trac full time 4wd and mine has the rock-trac full time 4wd.

Good idea, added two confirmed VINs to the first post. Thanks!

I’m going with it’s somehow related to the front off-road camera.

Those VINs have it in common, and it’s a new for 2021 feature.

Hmmm.. maybe it’s simply a case of changeover in production and comparing build dates

Hopefully not, we need to make fitment clear to customers. Somebody reading this thread will have the answer 🤞

I had the same thought on the camera option. Looked at several and they had the old console. Good idea though! đź‘Ť

Would be easier to add the lower mat photos to your description and tell customers to verify which mat they have and state which listing is for which console. Some will still get it wrong because they do not read but at that point you did everything you can to let the person know.

It may help to have build dates, mine is 1/14/2021.
