Jeep gurus help.....why are there two different center consoles on 2021 models?

I'm one of these guys. My JLR was built in April/May and your bottom tray dividers didn't fit, it was too big.

To add another data point:

I have a 4xe Rubicon that was built in May. It has the larger, traditional console. I did NOT order the trail cam.

Console Vault is usually the first thing I add to my vehicles, I noticed that it said it didn't fit the Rubicon trim, I reached out to them and they told me about the different console dimensions, it doesn't sound like they are going to make a new one either.

@salex, I have 2021 EcoD Rubicon with front trail cam...my console is about 2" more shallow than my 2021 EcoD Rubicon without the trail cam.

okay you take the current cubby console thing from OCD and cut the front fin and the 3 side fins it will fit great! You need to figure it out as you go but in about 10 min you have it. The 2nd pic us how much to cut off. LoL

@Punkindug Looks good! What was your tool of choice to cut the plastic?

Ruler and a sharp utility knife. Score the plastic a few times using the ruler as a guide then grab with pliers and the plastic snaps rite off.

Seems to be confirmed its the trail cam. Just picked up our JL 2 door rubicon, we have a 2020 willys also with the deeper console. When i lifted the armrest i was surprised to see it was shallow on the new one, knew i had read something in the forums. I do have the trail cam on the new jeep so seems that’s why. not a huge inconvenience, guess I’ll have to limit the crap i like to stuff down in there!
