Jeep clutch failure

Good afternoon, was hoping to see if anyone has had a similar issue and would know the possible repairs.

My 2018 wrangler JL 6 speed clutch failed yesterday. ( clutch was replaced under recall jan 2024 and has 15k miles on it),

If I put the shifter into reverse, 1st 3rd or 5th gear, it displays as 3rd gear on the odometer screen

If I put the shifter into 2nd 4th or 6th gear, it displays as 4th gear on the odometer screen

If I put the shifter down in 4th, it physically allows me to move the shifter left and right as if it were in neutral

If I put the shifter up 3rd it physically allows me to move the shifter left and right as if it were in neutral

when trying to drive it, it does feel as if the jeep is in 3rd gear

As typed, your post suggests a gearbox failure, less so anything to do with clutch engagement. This is buttressed by the wonky gear display on the dashboard.

Calling the dealer or shop of your choice to get it checked out seems to be the next reasonable step.

Hopefully a 6MT owner with related intel will weigh in here.

Yes, the clutch has had major recalls and problems. The solution is to replace all related components with aftermarket. Utilize the search function and you will find detailed info for replacement.

Doesn’t sound like clutch at all. Cable shifter harness alignment?
