This directly contradicts some of the info that everyone has been told or come to believe from inside sources. Just a few days ago they said probably second half of 2017 and all of the order info we have says it will go on sale in Fall/Winter 2017.
Yea point of posting the article was just his opinion not to expect the new Wrangler to debut at CES. The author probably didn't catch Manley's statement that it'll probably be revealed second half 2017.

Unlimited Mild Hybrid will not debut at CES. That's not close to being ready.

Am I the only one who thinks self driving cars are the WORST idea ever perpetrated on this earth?

This could be one of the things being revealed at CES.

Self driving Chrysler Pacifica

Totally bored by a minivan debut but it makes sense for Chrysler to debut the self driving Pacifica at CES since the Honda Odyssey is debuting in Detroit.

Guess the rumors about a Wrangler related CES reveal couldn't be further from the truth... this car doesn't even need a driver lol

Probably don't want to shoot themselves in the foot early since the JK is still being built and even after the JL debuts. Then they better release EVERYTHING at the reveal, the full specs, pricing etc.
So there's going to be a MY18 JK? How long for?

This is what FCA is debuting at CES - the Chrysler Portal Concept, a self driving electric minivan -- http://www.autoblog.com/2017/01/03/chrysler-portal-concept-ces-2016/

Cool looking if you're into minivans hah. The Wrangler JL wait continues...

They'll probably take their sweet time introducing it. Seems like there's no rush since the JK will continue even when the JK production starts. So in their best interest to wait as long as possible so they don't have a bunch of people not order or buy JKs once they find out about the JL coming.

Well... unless the price difference is significant between the two then maybe you could see people picking up the JK if they're not impressed by the upgrades you're paying more for on the JL.

Jeep knows what sells Wranglers and what motivates/interests its buyers so I'm sure the JL will be priced appropriately for the upgrades and updates its bringing to the table. They're never gonna convince all people interested in the JK to buy a JL but that's the beauty behind producing both at the same time for a while.

Good lord there's going to be a lot of Wranglers to choose from. Probably a ton of final year editions to make it even harder too lol.
