Sadly, I think the worst is yet come. As inventories get consumed while workers are “sheltered at home”, the true edge of impact is extremely difficult to graph. Since few politicians are specialists in the field of pandemics, “returning back to normal” is a coin toss between too soon and too late. Neither of which are appealing but hopefully whichever path chosen doesn’t add to the damage already done. Just an opinion kind of like “steering complaints”, who the hell really knows....LOL
I was sarcastic about some seemingly needing political approval instead of ALL information and points of view.

Not much. There’s a boatload of people looking for a job right now and the skills required to run a gas station that have mostly self serve pumps isn’t that high. Plus it doesn’t take a 7 year degree just to get started. What if the doctors, nurses and custodians at the hospital said “screw it, people want to get infected at the risk of death, let ‘em” and stayed at home?
You could be right. But with the way Illinois is throwing unemployment benefits at people who knows. If you don't have to work why bother.

Fortunately our dick head governor is now being sued for abuse of his emergency powers. Its time to open up the state and get people back to work.

What happens when those employees say fuck it, stay home and people can't buy gas?
Uhh, they lose weight by walking or riding a bike??

That’s the truly disappointing part right now. There are people more inclined to sit on their butt and do nothing and collect as much, if not more than if they worked. Unemployment was designed to keep you from drowning between jobs, not become a lifestyle but as work ethics diminished, the rules of qualification didn’t keep up. Collecting a “Gubment” check used to be an embarrassment, now it’s almost considered an entitlement that ”only fools” pass up.

No joke, I heard a guy in the store just yesterday bragging to the guy behind the register that he was pulling more income shopping than he was making ringing up the bill. It was all I could do to just shake my head and hope the cantaloupe he bought had e-coli in it.....

I mean, they need to get their reputation up after their latest recalls.

Telling people to stay home and not go driving around, to MAYBE save a few lives predisposed to an early death, is the equivalent of telling people to give up their guns to MAYBE stop a few gang bangers killing each other or suicides. Or to stop drinking soda to stop the beetus. Or to drive a Prius to “save the environment”

Worth an edit to address this thread going away from its intended purpose

Is the virus bad? Yes. Is it worth throwing away our liberties, including our freedom to travel down trail or use our Jeeps to drive to homes that we paid for, to states we are taxed in? That is a hard no.

Those who would sacrifice liberty for safety will get, and deserve, neither. One of the Founding Fathers said that.

And in a further effort to stay on topic: Jeep/FCA is probably gonna try to spin their clutch plate debacle as a positive effort in helping people to social distance by denying use of their vehicle

Which is where things are going: computer/automation controlled populations. Pass a law saying all cars must be self-driving to stop the “epidemic” of car crashes. Then, when your vehicle can be tracked/controlled/disabled remotely, government will simply hit the kill switch and only those wearing the King’s colors or having the appropriate “papers” can travel. Want to go off-roading? Sorry, cant, it’s to combat the “crisis” of the environment being destroyed.

See how a little PR/marketing and acquiescence to tyranny can REALLY turn you into a subject, rather than a Citizen?

And in a government where we consider liquor store and fast food, and abortions as “essential” but churches, cancer treatment, and knee replacements as “elective”, is this “social distancing” and shutting down the economy REALLY about saving lives?
Very well stated and absolutely correct

they are a noisy minority. I yet have faith in the general population.
I don't know man......
Out of 100 Americans, how many minds do you think can be wrested away from the clutches of Hollywood, Facebook, and the mockingbird media?

Interesting what’s his phone number when your house is burning? You have faith in many people most you don’t even know. That’s called society, without we have nothing.
LOL you are funny but you can keep your phone numbers and just make sure your phone battery is fully charged , thanks : )
