UPDATE:
Unbeknownst to me, my rear dashcam actually caught a glimpse of the thief's face during the incident. So I've given the footage to the police and hope they'll do something about it(Police did nothing as expected), meanwhile, here is the video, at about 1 minute in, you can hear the thief smash my window and take my belongings:

Shitty. Parked in supermarket for 5 minutes to just grab something real quick, came back to this.

Broken glass.
Chipped paint.
Scratched leather seat
Wallet and IDs stolen
Laptop stolen
About $2000 worth of other valuables since I was just on my way home from a snowboarding trip.

The thief proceeded to swipe my credit cards in various locations around town, including buying a bunch of camouflage jackets and then treated him/herself to a nice cup pearl milk tea and a plate of Panda Express with it before I had a chance to report it.

Damn, I think BC,Canada is a wonderland. Sorry to hear Vancouver is just another big city, I've always bypassed it. Hope you had insurance. I don't think you will be charged for the charges. Obviously they hadn't been user verified during those transaction. I think the store has to eat the loss.

Scumbags. The cops around here call it "smash and grab" and have been warning people to keep their stuff out of sight. Around here its usually kids. Apparently its a "thing".

I'm guessing that there wasn't CCTV close enough to help out out?

Shitty...
That’s beyond evil and awful. I am very sorry to hear this happened to you. Stuff like this truly saddens me. Sometimes human beings just plain STINK at life.

I sometimes say, “Lord Have Mercy,” and then whisper, “because I won’t.” :ninja:

No CCTV in this parkade unfortunately and my dash cam didn’t catch the crime either. I did report a suspicious vehicle to the police but they said there wasn’t enough evidence to investigate so unfortunately I will have to eat my losses. Jeep is now at repair shop estimated one week for the repairs, will cost $300 deductible from insurance.

Yea, my better half’s car also got smash and grabbed a few days prior so we’re going through some tough times. I’m usually very careful about keeping things in the car, and I actually have a privacy screen over my cargo area for that purpose, unfortunately the thief caught me at a bad time as I’m coming back from a snowboard trip so I had stuff overflowing into my backseat since my cargo was full.

This is her car last week:

I hope one day when they are law abiding citizens and have a job and own stuff that they are terrorized like they are terrorizing people now and that they and their families are made to feel the fear and have to go through the hassle of replacing everything that was stolen....

Bunch of punks!

they should give the death penalty to the loser who did this, get a job and buy your own things, leave the rest of us alone
I think that you should start a petition drive for this. Let’s see if the folks in New Jersey decide to go for this by overturning their anti-death penalty law enacted in 2007.

I rarely have my doors on, except in winter but glass is same level of protection for gear....

Never leave a wallet or phone in, get a tuffy console lock for other small stuff, and in back either a lockable storage box or Tuffy rear cargo lock.

Thousands of cars get broken in a day, its done by Pros in big rings on west coast. they will get into your jeep in less time than owner using fob and be gone with stuff.
