Can anybody confirm how to flat tow my 2021 Jeep Rubicon behind my motorhome with the doors locks and the alarm not going off 5 minutes down the road? I currently just leave the doors unlocked but need to figure this one out! Thanks for your help. Mike

Do you have additional alarms, such as for battery level or hood?

Once you have it in (transfer case) neutral and (transmission) park, you are cycling to turn off the power, yes?
Page 177 of the 2023 Manual:

1. Bring the vehicle to a complete stop on level ground.
2. Press and hold the brake pedal.
3. Shift the automatic transmission into NEUTRAL or
press the clutch pedal on a manual transmission.
4. Turn the engine off.
5. Shift the transfer case lever into (N) Neutral.
6. Start the engine.
7. Shift the transmission into REVERSE.
8. Release the brake pedal (and clutch pedal on manual
transmissions) for five seconds and ensure that there
is no vehicle movement.
9. Repeat steps seven and eight with automatic
transmission in DRIVE or manual transmission in
FIRST gear.
10. Turn the engine off.
11. Firmly apply the parking brake.
12. Shift the transmission into PARK or place manual
transmission in gear (NOT in NEUTRAL).
13. Attach the vehicle to the tow vehicle using a suitable
tow bar.
14. Release the parking brake.

Without the power and set properly it should not alarm.

Thanks for the feedback JJ_WA. I have followed these exact steps but if i lock the doors and leave the ignition in the off position, the security alarm (horn) will continue to go off while i am driving. I think it thinks I am stealing the Jeep? Thoughts. I believe there is a way to deactivate the anti-theft alarm for flat towing? but not sure how to engage?

Are you leaving a set of keys in the Jeep by any chance? If so it'll get weird when you try to lock up. Otherwise, I'm not sure. Sorry.

That's weird. I have flat towed 2 different JK's and 2 different JL's over the past 6 years and have never had an issue with the alarm going off. I just put the transfer in N, put the auto in park or 6th if manual, turn off the ign, lock the doors and set off.

Do you have the OEM tow harness or aftermarket?

Hey OP,

Try single clicking your FOB.

On my 2020 JL, one click locks the doors, two clicks flashes my lights, gives a quick beep and arms the theft awareness.

If you’re in a hurry and don’t want to troubleshoot, lock the critter old school with a key OR disconnect your batteries.
