I just installed a JeCar fuel door this evening and there is a very slight gap between the rubber gasket and the body of the Jeep. It’s hard to tell in the picture I have posted. Has anybody who has installed this also ended up with a similar gap? I’m only worried about long term effects of water leaking back behind. I never paid much attention to the factory gas cap “bezel”(for lack of a better term), but assume it was not water tight as it was just plastic against the body. Other than that, I personally like the look of it much better than factory. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

It is like that with most of them. Have the same gap. Dealer showed me 20 wranglers on the lot with either a similar or worse gap. Although, aftermarket fuel doors tend to be worse than Mopar.

Yeah, I kinda figured they all have some kind of a gap. I just didn’t notice it til I put the aftermarket cap on. I was just worried about Ohio winters with salt making it’s way back there.
