Anyone else having issues programming their garage doors with the sun visor homelink? I am doing the steps exactly like the videos show but it won’t work. My guess is user error but can’t figure out what I am missing. Help please :crying:

- Changed to new batteries for opener
- Put ignition to “run” without starting
- Held buttons 1&3 to erase memory
- Placed opener within 1” of buttons
- Press and held opener and button 1 simultaneously
- Slow blinking never speeds up indicating that it took...even after 1 minute of holding both opener and button down.
- same with different garage door openers and different visor buttons.

I tried many times with different methods that I found online and it never worked for me either. I didn't bother trying with another opener. Same issue with the slow blinking never speeding up.

I just gave up and resorted to keeping the remote in the Jeep. It does bug me though. If you find a solution I'd love to hear it!

It took many tries but ended up using an old remote and got it programmed. The instructions did not work. No where near as easy as my corvette to program. Good luck. I have no idea as to how it finally worked.

I don't remember what I did, but I got mine working. It took waaaaay too long, but when figured it out, it was like light bulb went off. I watched some videos but I think the best bet is to follow instructions in the Jeep manuals.

I never got mine to work either. I actually reset everything so I would have to reprogram my truck. Truck worked first try. Still couldn't get jeep to work. Gave up

I watched video on phone as I was doing it because I got tired of running back and forth to desktop after each fail.

Try it with the jeep running. I couldn’t get it to power up unless the engine was on

I'll try that. That's one thing I didn't try

I got it to work...it was pretty easy. Just follow the directions to the word.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Yes I have followed the directions including the rolling code steps. I don't get far enough for the rolling code programming to even come into play. The only thing I haven't tried yet that I see here is to do this with the Jeep running. Will give it a try this evening and report back.

Most likely rolling codes as noted above. I haven't done mine yet out of laziness... However, they aren't joking when they say the car can't be in the garage when you program the remote. It needs to be outside for whatever reason. I was so frustrated while doing my wifes car and ignored the car outside part. Soon as a I moved it outside it worked flawlessly!

I got mine to work on the first try. It programmed exactly like the opener on my prior Rams my wife's old Grand Cherokee did. I don't remember if I did anything different than the instructions (didn't use them this time since I was familiar with the process). I've actually got 3 different doors set on mine and they've all got rolling codes.
Just be aware you don't have to hold buttons 1 & 3 unless you're clearing codes. That's how you reset it. If you have one door programmed, and do that step before programming another door, you'll lose the first door. That step is a delete command.
