Thanks so much for the quick feedback. At this point, I am really concerned about bringing it home and charging it, much less just having it in the garage. I will talk with my advisor again, but I understand it is not her fault, and that STAR is the issue.
No problem! @alphawolff above is a Mopar tech and knows a lot about these, so it sounds like he has different experience with the STAR cases getting approved but my service advisor told me she was told the case was denied and until the code was active they wouldn't approve a replacement.

I continued driving and charging mine the whole time, but especially with the new recall out that's a personal decision you'll have to make.

Yeah, my tech and the service manager both said that likely I will receive a new HV battery as a result of this new recall. Until then, they sent me home saying, "it will be ok as long as you don't charge it". Unfortunately, I have no other option but to drive it until the recall is in effect.
