I purchased the HD Dog-Legged Tie Rod & Stabilizer Kit, JL Wrangler/JT Gladiator, Rubicon, RockSport Edition (https://metalcloak.com/jl-wrangler-...ed-tie-rod-kit-rubicon-rocksport-edition.html) - and my understanding from reading the requirements and product description. It says works with stock backspacing. In addition, it says "comes with dual 1-ton forged and heat treated 1" Dog-Leg Rod-Ends that have strength AND provides clearance for use with stock or aftermarket wheels".

My 2019 Jeep RUBICON is running stock wheels and tires right now. I installed the tie rod and when doing a sharp turn the tie rod rubs on the inside of my wheel. Not good so I removed it and put my stock tie rod back on. I am not sure how this tie rod works if it says you can have stock wheels on it. Do I just not do sharp turns and yeah it's good? Has anyone had this issue? MC informed me they've never had this issue and offered a steering stop bolt solution or when I decide to upgrade my wheels I could throw it back on. Am I missing something here?

I am interested to know this too. I thought about getting one myself and was under the impression you didn’t need any modifications. If you talk to MC let us know what they say...

I did talk to them and the solution they offered was the steering stop bolt. But again they found my issue to very puzzling themself cuz they said it should work.

Oops I see where metal cloak already gave you a response. Are your rims the standard Rubi rims or are they the upgraded ones? Does it do it on both sides?

Yes standard Rubi rims. It did rub on both sides.

I would ask MC to exchange it in case something is out of spec. If it still does it then go with the steering bolt if you plan on getting new wheels down the road. Another option is spacers. I bought qtec spacers for 89 a pair and put them on last weekend. Makes the tires stick past the fenders about an inch. Looks good to me and I’m not a fan of having wheels way past the fenders.

Yeah I even sent them a measurement picture and I'm guessing it was the right size one. I hope to get them on soon with new wheels but again very puzzled that it didn't work.
