Is This the Generator That Replaces Traditional Alternator?

Very new to this 3.6L ETorque engine and was wondering if what’s circled (see picture below) is the generator that replaces the traditional alternator in non-eTorque engines…

No, the BSG/e-Torque unit is much larger and is in front of the engine. It will have a seven or eight rib belt directly to the crank pulley.

I believe it's just an electric vacuum pump.
