I'm looking to buy a JLU Sahara. I haven't been able to find a dealer that has exactly what I want, so I know I'm probably going to have to have a dealer order it. I've talked with a dealer who said he can sell me this specific Jeep for $42,980. (MSRP is $50,015). Is this a good deal or can I get a better deal somewhere else?

For reference, I live in North Carolina.

Not good price if no more discounts applied. Right now JEEP gives EMPLOYEE PRICING FOR ALL for SAHARA, so - minus $3.300 from the MSRP. I built your configuration on JEEP-build and get 43.511 (without delivery) MSRP including EMPLOYEE PRICING FOR ALL discount.

As summary: if you order this build from the factory and when it arrives (2-3 months) no more discount provided by the Jeep - you will pay more than if you buy it from a dealer spot right now.
