Is there any way to tell a 2.0 just by looking at it?

The engine sounds crappier.

I think that's a loosing battle on both side. At least if you listen closely, you could tell that the 2.0T wasn't a Chysler Pacifica.
Maybe, but there is a reason the 2.0T isn't offered in vehicles that the 3.6 is - like the Gladiator, Challenger, Charger, 300, Grand Cherokee, 1500, Rubicon Extreme Recon...etc. At the end of the day to each their own. Cheers ;)

Just poking fun, realistically both motors are reasonably adequate for the use.

Realistically, the 3.6 is cheaper to produce and it's lower torque output allows the use of less robust drivetrains, and as such makes more sense to offer as a base motor in vehicles (especially those with V8 options). I'd assume FCA (at the time) decided the CAFE benefit of the swap didn't outweigh the additional costs.

All fun on my side too. As far as robust drivelines the 2.0T really doesn't make that much torque over the 3.6 - they both use the 850RE tranny.

Does anyone know why when you go to build a Rubicon, and add the XR package, it mandates the V6?

I just changed the oil in a 2021 with a V6. By looking at it and my 2.0T, I can't tell any difference from the outside. Yes they sound different but as for driving it's six of one half dozen of another when it comes to everyday driving when comparing the 2.0T and the V6.

Only thing right now that would worry me about the 2.0T would be all of that plastic by the turbo. I suspect it will not age well. Then there are the horrible FCA wiring harnesses. What takes the longest on changing out a filter housing on a V6 is to make sure you can get all of the connectors undone and not damage something. So I don't see the 2.0T being any better once they get to be 5-7 years old.

How to recognize a 2.slow?

It'll be on fire.

It'll be in line at the gas station.

It'll be on the rack at the dealership service bay.

There are lots of possible answers.....

Why would it be in line at the gas station if it gets better fuel economy?

I challenge all you drivers who are blind....sit next to a 2.0 and you can tell upon start up. Normal drivers who can see, cannot tell the difference at all by looking
