I think it is a dying art, because people give me šŸ’© for spending 2.5k (sold hardtop for 1.5k) on a powered soft top while there's an entire thread for people who are spending up to 3k on a RADIO. This top allows me to be topless as much as humanly possibly without needing a garage.

This weekend wouldn't have been as fun if I didn't get to commute everywhere topless.

If its nice enough to take my top and doors off then its nice enough to be dirt biking instead.
I only get a handful of days a month to be home so the only time i find it worth my time is when i can let a friend experience driving in a naked jeep for the first time

The only advantage the Jeep has is that I donā€™t need to wear a helmet with drivingšŸ˜ŠšŸ˜Š

Well, they are pretty good in the winter, too. But each to his own. I like how we can adapt them to all seasons.

Mine has been naked most of the summer so far. She was fully dressed last week due to 90+ degrees and high humidity with rain. Yesterday I stripped her back down and not 20 minutes later it rained šŸ˜‚. This is why the carpet and drain plugs have been pulled since the end of June.

So, out of curiosity for somebody without a jeep (yet, I just put in my order).

What's the difference sound/wind wise with JUST the Roof Off, Vs the Roof AND the Doors Off?

Also, does the spider sunshade make a difference with noise when the roof is off?

Thanks! :)

I have the Spider SunShade one-piece over the entire Jeep and I donā€™t notice any issue with noise. However, I have 33ā€ MTs, axle-back dual exhaust and K&N, so I have a lot of other noise. Itā€™s a Jeep, itā€™s not supposed to be quiet!

Hey ELJeefe77
First of all congrats on the Jeep order. Enjoy the anticipation, donā€™t get stressed about the build and waiting process. Many do and lose the fun of the delivery day. (Some justifiable, I get it)Canā€™t really help with either of the questions but just a little help..Jeepā€™s have tops not roofs. šŸ˜‰

Post pics when you get the new Jeep
Ah, top it is - thanks! Will find out my ETA for delivery in 2-3 weeks. Could be 5-10 weeks, depending on how the chip shortage is going apparentlyh.

Awesome, thanks! I was in my garage last night eye-balling the rafters trying to figure out where I can put a pulley system for the top! :)

Did some re-organizing in the garage so I can finally park the jeep in there. Now that sheā€™s a garage queen I go doorless and topless every day. I havenā€™t had the doors/top on since July 10th! Iā€™m going to see if I can break my college record of like 4 months

Congrats!

Having just the freedom panels off is like a windier version of a sunroof (because thereā€™s no deflector). Having the top off is like a bigger sunroof. A sunshade makes a huge difference with wind (not as much wind), and makes it a tad quieter. It also keeps you from frying in the sun. Get one.

The doors make a huge difference. 35 and below itā€™s mostly road noise. Itā€™s fun and you can still have a convo and listen to the radio. On the highway itā€™s assault from wind and trucks. You wonā€™t be having any casual conversations or listening to your crime podcast. Youā€™ll have to communicate with your significant other through loving glances or shouting, ā€œWHAT???ā€ at each other.
